Charlie's Ark has taken Mike over two years to develop and now Clinton Cards is staging a promotional launch of both greeting cards and plush soft toys featuring eight of the animals from Charlie's Ark.

Mike will be at Clinton Cards located in The Shires on Wednesday 9th July 2008 from 10.00am to 12.00pm and for every Charlie's Ark purchase, Mike will be giving away a signed special edition print.

There are three age categories:

• 0-9 months,
• 10-18 months
• 19-36 months

Great Prizes to be won:
The Baby of the Year 2008 will win £1,000 and The Baby of the Year trophy
The three category winners will receive £500
All 12 finalists will receive a £50 Debenhams gift card.

How to enter - Follow these three easy steps:
1 Cut out the entry token that will be printed in the Leicester Mercury and take it along with your little one to a photo session listed below between Monday, June 30 and Thursday, July 17, 2008.

2 Have your little one’s photograph taken free of charge by a professional photographer. You will be given a date by the photographer to return and choose a photograph to appear in the photo special, a selection of images will be available for you to purchase at your appointment.

3 The Leicester Mercury will then print every chosen photograph in the colour photo special on Tuesday, August 12.

Lantern Making Workshops for Children

Bring along your creative ideas and learn to make paper lanterns. Artists Fi and Liz from Paper Space Arts will run these workshops for children aged 5+ (accompanied by a parent or guardian). Then join us again, with your lantern, and your family, to take part in the fantastic opening event of Highcross Leicester on 4th September!

River of Silk – Dance and Performance workshops
Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st August, 2008
Be a part of the river of silk, an exciting performance project to launch Highcross Leicester on the 4th September.
Participants will have the opportunity to work with celebrated international artists and dance choreographers from Kinetika as part of the animation of a 80 metre river of silk that will make its way though the City at lunchtime on the 4th September as part of the exciting launch of the new development, Highcross Leicester
The workshops are open to all ages. Booking will be essential.
